This project has given me the chance to explore the field of design more in depth than ever before. Through recreating this poster I leaned about the process behind good design and the choices made behind every decision. Through viewing this piece of art I can express myself through a charcoal illustration while also advertising for a cause I believe in. I have a greater appreciation for design and I feel as if I am examining the placement of things in everything I see. As a result of this project I look for hidden lines and how light works in order to draw attention to a subject matter. This project was a very important step in my art career as it has furthered my understanding of design. The only aspect of y work that I would change is the placement of the original junk mail underneath my illustration. I would have changed the angle of a few of the papers in order to draw the viewer into the subject matter. However, my random placement aligns nicely with some of the diagonals in the faces. Moving forward, I would suggest this project be much more assertive over what should be created during this process as I feel most of my peers did not truly understand the importance or take the time to think in depth about the work they created. For many this project was a road block for them to scramble over with whatever they could make in a few minutes, yet I saw this block and passed it to find myself somewhere I can further my development as an artist.
